ovarian cyst found

by woodhaven, Aug 22, 2007 09:20AM
Hi, I am new to this...I went to get a pelvic ultrasound due to prolonged periods and spotting...31/2 wks long per mnth! No pain though, just some light cramping.  I also bleed slightly after intercourse.  I am 36 yrs old with 3 kids, anyway,  my primary Dr. set me up for the ultrasound and I was told they found a 2.8cm cyst on my right ovary.  They are setting me up with a Gynochologist and a 6wk followup.  Is this big, what should I expect and what are some questions I should ask the Dr.  If anyone can advise me on any of this I would be very greatful...Thanks so much!!
