Xanax Question

by TylerDave, Aug 23, 2007 11:33AM
A young woman I know recently (10 days ago) took 8 bars (pills) of xanax apparently in an attempt to not get caught with them.  2 days later she apparently became hysterical and needed to be calmed down.  Since then and continuing till now, she seems to have short term memory loss.  She does not remember anything from hour to hour for the most part.  She is for the most part homeless unless she is staying with someone and has no real income.  Will her symptoms go away on her own, should she go to the hospital.  How much care could she actually get as she is basically homeless.

I can't help with the homelessness issue, but from what you said she is lucky she survived, and if it is only from the medication, it will get better each day, back to what is her normal functioning.  It's too late to do anything else re the over dose.

I took 5 1mg Xanax once.  I slept for 2 days, and was several days getting over the side effects.

WOW, I took a half a bottle of .05 once (I get 90 per refill) and didn't even sleep through the night.  I am an addict obviously, but xanax is not my thing. I only take .05 to sleep generally.  Guess I was lucky I didn't kill myself which of course I was hoping for at the time.  I didn't remember how I got the big gash in my forehead in the morning though.  This happened years ago now and 6wks ago I quit smoking cigs and pot hoping to sleep better and feel better by now, but I don't at all.  Could this be why?
