9 weeks pregnant

by dondip, Mar 09, 2006 12:00AM
I am 9 weeks pregnanat. Ok I was seeing on doctor and at 8 weeks I had a vaginal ultra sound and they could not find a heartbeat the US showed a 7 week old fetus and he told me I was going to miscarry that week (appt. was 2/28). I wanted another opinion so I went to see another dr. and he was out of town so his assistant (a rn)this was monday (3/6)  she did another vaginal ultra sound and it showed the fetus had grown to 9 weeks where I am suppose to be but still no heartbeat.  She did blood work to check my hormone level and was told it was high.  The thing I don't understand is I asked how is the fetus growing and you can't find a heartbeat and she said my hormones could be causing the fetus to grow has anyone been through anything like this before.  I don't understand how the baby is growing, but they can not find a heartbeat is this normal?

no, that does not sound normal. you should get a heartbeat at 6 weeks, give or take a few days.

i am suposed to be seven weeks pregnant tomorrow. I went to the dr today for a follow up ultra sound from two weeks ago. they cant even find the baby, gestational sac or anything. i am waiting for lab results to see if my hcg levels are droping or rising. Hopefully dropping so they can treat as miscarriage. If not, and levels are rising they treat with chemo therapy drug and say it's ectopic. i hope they can give you answers. They had said I should have seen heartbeat today.

you have to give a chance.i am 9 weeks pregnant and yesterday i went for my first ultra sound.at first it took a long time for the doctor to find the fetus, but after a while there it was, with its heartbeat.so i think if the doctor didn't give a chance maybe she would have told me that she couldn't see the fetus.so pluck up courage, god knows what He is doing .
good luck xxxxxx
