Chronic partial denervation at right deltoid, C5/6 lesion - what treatment?

by smileyeyes, Jan 25, 2007 12:00AM
In January 2001 my husband was referred to the pain clinic ref persistent problems with cervical spine.  A cervical radiograph was performed and showed slight narrowing of disc at C5/6.  Nerve conduction studies indicated chronic partial denervation at the right deltoid which could be interpreted as a C5/6 lesion.  He was referred for cervical spondylosis and had an x-ray, this proved a negative result. He has since been in constant pain that has got worse to the point that he is always in pain and the NHS doctor has said there is nothing more they can do.  We are now considering going private, albeit we can't afford it as he has another problem called achalasia stricture (narrowing of the oesophagus) which caused him to leave an extremely well paid job.  He is now working but is suffering every day as the more he uses his arm the worse it gets and I really need to get him some help.  There must be an answer,  would somebody please tell us which direction to take and if there is any treatment that we can consider.  This poor man really needs some help.  Thank you.
