Weird Symptoms Please Help

by lilhelp123456, Aug 30, 2007 08:22AM
Four weeks ago during intercourse with a new partner the condom came off.  I am not certain how long it had been off before we finished.  About a week later I noticed an odd bump on the tip of my penis.  Not round or even really circular in nature.  Two days later I went to my doctor who looked at it and said it was most likely nothing but as a precaution he referred me to a dermatologist.  The dermatologist looked at it and also said it was nothing, probably friction related and that it should go away in time.  It has since decreased in size and has never changed shape or formed any sort of blister or sore.  It is not painful.

About a day after visiting the dermatologist I noticed a tingle in the tip of my penis and it often felt as though I had to urinate but really did not.  I was concerned and went to the public heath clinic to be tested for STDs.  The test for chlaymidia, gonorrhea and syphilis all came back negative. A week later the tingle went away but about that time I began to develop pain in my testicle.  I returned to the health clinic and the retested me for chlaymida and gonorrhea and put me on doxyciclin.  My second test for chlaymida and gonorrhea also came back negative.

Where I stand now:  The bump on my penis is almost gone, again never changed shape or developed into anything else and still has never been painful.  I never had any sort of discharge from my penis and the tingle is all but gone.  I still have occasional testicle pain and have been given three weeks of doxyciclin to take to ward off any bacterial infection.

Do these symptoms add up to anything?  From what I had read they sounded like chlaymida but with two negative tests I am concerned it could be something else.  Any insight would be appreciated.

It is difficult to say without examination.

I agree with the testing for STDs.

Scrotal pain can be due to infections like epididymitis.  An ultrasound of the scrotum can be done to evaluate this possibility.  I would also obtain a urinalysis looking for possible infection.

Prostatitis can lead to prolonged symptoms as well.  If suspected, a prostatic massage and/or transrectal ultrasound can be done to exclude this possibility.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

The pain is actually in both of my testicles above I think I only mentioned one but it is both and not always both at the same time, sometimes one or the other.  Additianlly I have had a mild cough for most of the last few weeks which I was also told was unrelated.
