vaginal bleeding after bowel movement

by Jazz song, Aug 31, 2007 12:55AM
I am currently having bright red vaginal bleeding after a bowel movement.  The bleeding tapers off in a few (3 or 4) hours) but begins again with the next bm.   I am not sexually active, 38, one miscarriage 4 years ago, paps current, on seasonale b/c for migraine prevention.  Not constipated or straining with bm.   This just started and has me scared.   What is happening

Could it be anal bleeding instead of vaginal?  It doesn't have to come with straining.

I am 36 years old and I am having the same problem.  It is not anal bleeding but vaginal bleeding.  I have an appointment to see the doctor in a couple of weeks.  I am a little concerned myself.

I would want to go to the ER if this was happening to me. You don't want to mess around with bleeding when you don't know where it is coming from or if it is building up some where you can't see. You need some tests ASAP. I would imagine the problem is in your uterus, so you should have them use a camera to examine the inside of it if they can't find anything with an ultra sound. The other possiblity would be an attachment between your bowel and bladder. This can happen for many reasons. The organs can fuse together, or many other things. A ruptured ovarian cyst can cause bleeding like this also. A person can actually bleed to death from a ruptured ovarian cyst if it's large enough. Depending on how fast you were losing blood, you could also pass out and not be able to get help. The amount of blood coming out and when it's coming out, doesn't tell you how much you are bleeding inside and for how long. Slow or fast, if is doesn't stop it could get serious very fast. Maybe it's just something happening for the seasonal, but you shouldn't ever take any chances with unexplained bleeding.
