Weird Symptoms

by Dobonmai, Dec 07, 2004 12:00AM
My wife for the last two weeks has had pain and soreness in her left temple.  It is also very painful to touch. She also has been getting very dizzy in low lit places.  I am not sure if these two things are related or not.  Do you have idea what this could be?

I am not sure if the dizzy sensation is related or not. If your wife has been having head pain, changes in her vision, other neurologic symptoms (weakness, sensory changes, difficulty speaking, or balance problems) or pain in the jaw with chewing or talking I would encourage you to go to the emergency room to be evaluated. In people over age 50 there is a condition called temporal arteritis which can cause these symptoms, and needs to be treated early to prevent loss of vision. Otherwise you should call your primary doctor and arrange to have this evaluated. Without examining her and taking her history I am not able to provide a diagnosis. Good luck.
