You may mean Alpha-Lipoic acid? which has been used in the treatment of diabetic neuropathy in IV or oral forms

Several trials report modest benefits, although as judged by subjective measures

It is thought to act as an antioxidant, among other ways. It cannot however 'cure' neuropathy and only provided symptomatic relief, and in some cases a delay in progression of the neuropathy as judged by electrophysiologic studies.

Individual results (such as above) should be interpreted with caution, and may not be generalizable to every body who tries this form of treatment.

Sounds like treating the symptoms and not the cause.  I'll pray for you.
