I had a cystoscopy performed two days ago on Friday. I am not sure if it was the flexible or rigid kind, but it was quite painfulPainful menstrual periods. Not even sure if topical was applied.
When I had my cysto on a Friday, I recall the stinging lasting till Monday, so you should be getting better today. As they tell you, drink plenty of water.
Thank you for the comments. I recall the Dr. squirting something inside of me, but it was like less than 10 seconds or so that he was inserting the scope. He really didn't tell me what was happening as the procedure was happening and I didn't really want to look.
Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to ask questions ahead of time. I wasn't even advised of the test until I was checking out at my previous appt and a sheet was handed to me by the nurse with her saying the Dr. wanted me to have this done. Reading your comments and other info online, I think I my experience wasn't normal. It seems as if it was more rushed and less consideration taken. Or it felt that way.

P.S.: I don't think any doctor still uses a rigid scope, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. They usually squirt some lidocaine into your urethra to numb you, then wait a few minutes before inserting the scope till the lidocaine kicks in. You should remember if they did this. Antibiotics are standard afterwards.
