You can have herpes lesions anywhere in the entire boxer short area in a lifetime. They won't always be in the same spot. Also even though so far your lesions seem to be on the buttock area - you are still shedding the virus from the entire anogenital area with ob's and periodically in between. I say that so that you understand that you shouldn't be having sex when you have an ob just because the ob's are on your butt.
I encourage you to read the herpes handbook and watch the patient counseling video at www.westoverheights.com. Both are very helpful to learn more about herpes. Also if you have a regular partner - they should get tested for herpes too.
