well said! Ladies and God bless you, mommy27
i agree with ang7880. this is patient-to-patient and not doc-to-patient. you were very rude to mommy27. she was only trying to help you. if you want an answer from someone with a medical degree, then by all means....go talk to the doctor. if we were all doctors here then we certainly wouldn't be sitting around all day answering questions on a forum, we'd be diagnosing patients in a clinic!
I just wanted to add that the Women's Health forum is a patient-to-patient medical forum [Interact with people with a shared interest in a particular medical topic. ], NOT a doctor-to-patient medical forum [Post questions to doctors and medical professionals affiliated with some of the best medical institutions. ].
I'm glad to hear you don't have herpes. I am sorry to have offened you in my first post. No hard feelings on my end. I wish you nothing but the best with your baby.
i just recently got my labs and i do not have herpes my doc explained that herpes is the easiest to show correctly on labs and that in fact that was really a shingle on my back not hsv-2 in fact shingles is a herpes virus but and on lab cultures that it is possiable for it to show up as incorrectly since there is just one herpes variable.
Thank you lillady. By the way nicole83, my mother-in-law is a RN. You are being very rude with the name calling. That was not necessary at all! I was only trying to help but it seems you don't appreciate that. Don't ask questions if you don't want people responding to them! Here is some info for you! God bless you!
HSV- 2
typically affects the genital area (genital herpes)
HSV-2 can:
be inactive or 'silent' causing no symptoms (no bumps or blisters)
cause either genital or oral infections
cause 'outbreaks' of blisters and ulcers
People can remain infected for life after the first initial episode
From what I can see-this forum has answers from professionals and the common person who may have experienced similar problems. I don't think mommy27 was being rude by any terms! She was just trying to give you more information.
WHO R U? ARE YOU A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL? WELL, LIKE I SAID I HAVE NEVER HAD A BUMP OR BUMPS ON MY VAGINA OR EVEN HAD A COLD SORE IN MY LIFE. WHAT YOU WROTE REALLY DOESN'T MAKE ANY SINCE AND SOUNDS LIKE YOU REALLY DON'T HAVE ANY READING SKILLS NEITHER DO ME A FAVOR AND DON'T COMMENT ON MY PERSONAL PROBLEMS. I THOUGHT THAT I WAS GOING TO GET A RESPONSE FROM SOMEONE THAT HAS A MEDICAL DEGREE NOT YOUR AVERAGE DUMD DUM TRING TO PLAY DOCTOR. GET A LIFE INSTEAD OF HELPING ALL YOU DIDI WAS **** ME OFF. "GET A LIFE LOSER!"
Where was the first culture taken from? If the first culture came back postive, then it sounds like herpes. Has your DR discussed treatments? You get bumps or sores on the genital area when you have an outbreak, not all the time. You should really discuss this with your OB since you are PG.
