Infertility

My question, I have had infertility workups done and recently I was looking over blood work which dr said was in normal range, however after searching books and the internet I am not so sure.  My TSH blood work came back at 3.00 uIU/ml  0.350-5.500 that is how it reads on my paper and underneath it says prolactin 12.6 ng/mL  2.8-29.2   after reading it says 2.5 would be normal range for tsh according to American Association for clinical chemistry laboratory medicile practice guidelines.  I am wondering then should I have further tests done and what are there and do you agree with 3.0 maybe being out of norm range.  I am tired alot with low energy levels and I am 35 and fall in the unexpalin catg for fertility.  Thanks

With infertility and TSH of 3.0, would test antibodies and if positive consider levothyroxine therapy - this has been shown to decrease miscarriage rate and may (but not proven) help with infertility.

I think the key here is if the TPO and/or Tg antibodies are positive.  The TSH of 3.0 with negative antibodies would be more controversial in terms of treatment benefiting infertility, but the risks of levothyroxine treatment are low so would still be worth considering.
