basset hounds weight

i recently adopted a 10 month old male basset, he had giardia which I had treated but is very thin. he weighs 28 lbs. how much should he weigh at his age?

I couldn't give you a certain number of pounds, but in most dogs, you want to be able to just feel the ribs when you pet them.  You definitely don't want to SEE the ribs.  If you think he's recovered from the giardia and still underweight, I think a vet consult would be a good idea - particularly if he's eating well but still skinny.  Make sure you're using a good quality food - none of that "Ol Roy" **** from Wal Mart!  :-)
