Thanks Deb! I miss you too! I posted to you a few days ago. So are you hanging tight??? You are a brave and compassionate woman. I wish you all the best.

I also have TMJ, but in a mild form. I usually take my Motrin 800mg TID usually for 10 days or so until the inflamation goes down. It drives my son crazy when I eat, you can hear my jaw popping. I also get ear aches and wonder if my TMJ contributes to my migraines.
Before having more surgery, I would try a short course of steroids. There is a pack that can be prescribed that is a 7 day course. It has little side effects and works good to take down inflamation. You take 1 the first day then 2 the second and increase for 7 days. It is called a medrol dose pack.
Ask for it if you do okay w/ steroids.
Miss you girl!
Debbie
Thanks for the info! Yeah, after just having a tummy tuck that was excruciating, Im NOT looking to have any more surgery. Im getting the headaches, earaches. Aleve is working though. Maybe a few years down the road if it is really bad I would consider getting it fixed but that jaw surgery sounds awful, you are right.
Thanks again,
tzt
ps I admire your recovery, you really are a great example of how to stay clean once we get clean
TMJ...
Gotta love it!!! I have it BAAADDDD. Clicking, popping, headaches, earaches, etc...nasty. But for the most part aleve does the trick. Yes, they have told me surgically breaking my jaw would cure it, but that sounds horrible. So for now I live with it. Oh yeah, it can get worse, mine has by far, but it's still better than being wired shut for weeks...although a GREAT diet plan...hmmm I'll think on that for awhile..
Anywhoo....Just my thoughts. Sorry you have to deal with it. It can be a pain.
thanks, babe. Its fine now but if it gets too bad then I will try to get it fixed. Im not too worried about it.
You ok? How are you feeling? Im feeling better everyday. Its a trip how much I was missing being on the pills. I was living the life of a very unhealthy person............work and then come home and lay around. I am able to go do things now.
Hey, maybe that "friend" got tmj by flapping her jaws too much...LOL!!!! j/k! I know, I can be mean, cant I.
love ya lots,
tzt (oops, almost put my name)
no sweetheart, i'm sorry, i don't. but i'm really sorry to hear about this.
a friend of mine had it (one of those "friends" - you know) and I don't recall it ever being too bad tho, sweetheart...
