This forum is for questions and support regarding tips and techniques to help people begin to take accountability and responsibility for their general well-being and move towards improvement in all areas of their life: work, home, and relationships. Professional coaching is about setting goals, creating results, communicating with those around you to create a healthy environment, and managing change.

By participating in this coaching forum you are not entering into a doctor-patient or attorney-client relationship. You agree to seek independent professional guidance for legal, medical, financial, business, spiritual or other matters. You understand that all decisions in these areas are exclusively yours and you acknowledge that your decisions and actions regarding them are your sole responsibility.

Coaching is very different from therapy or counseling. It is a pro-active approach instead of a dependent reliance upon a counselor or therapist to unearth the hidden issues buried deep in a person’s past. Coaching deals with the "here-and-now" and acknowledges that each individual can take responsibility for their own life by having tools and resources that support them. Coaching focuses on wellness and expects the individual to be an active participant in his own well-being.

Thanks for this great new community!

What do you think it takes to actually make changes in your life?  Are there specific events, motivators, etc. that you need to have in order to truly get yourself to move in a different direction?

I am pleased to be hosting this new forum.  I want to extend a warm invitation to continue to use this forum to help answer any nudging questions about all areas of wellness: your work life, your home life, your relationships, and anything in-between.

To make actual changes in your life, it is important to remember that 80% of change is internal and only about 20% is external.  What does this mean?  It all starts with you.  So, one of the first things to discover is what makes you tick?  Do a self-inventory.  What is working?  What isn’t working so well?  Usually, we tend to only focus on the negatives.  It’s like taking your car in for a tune-up.  If you haven’t had a wellness tune-up, you’ve come to the right place.  The mechanic will tell you what type of oil and the type of gasoline to use for your engine.  It’s the same thing with your life.  You need to discover what you truly need to make yourself happy.  Once you know what you need to keep your engine going, you can go out and get it.  So, the hardest part is starting this process.  Are you ready for a wellness tune-up?
