post sinus surgery - cough

by estern, Sep 14, 2007 03:46AM
I had 3 procedures two weeks ago - septoplasty, radio frequency turbinate reduction, and endoscopic sinus surgery.  Things are healing nicely, and I'm using the sinus wash regularly as directed.  I'm also noticing that a lot of dried green and black stuff is coming up through my nose.  Last night I was sleeping when I suddenly awoke coughing, like I'd inhaled something.  Have I inhaled some of the dried residue?  My lungs are trying to expel something and yet I can't.  The coughing is quite persistent.  Please advise.

Three years ago I was getting pain in head and sinuses clogged, next step would of been surgery.
A dietician suggested quitting dairy.  IT WORKED!  I still will cheat with some milk or yogurt once in a while, but the main culprit was cheese.  My husband also quit dairy and his severe vertigo stopped.
