get a blood pregnancy test at about 1 week after your period was due. This will provide you with a pregnancy hormone level which is reliable. The Urine pregnancy test sometimes detects pregnancy at varying levels (even the same brand), and this may explain the on-off nature of your results. It may also be possible that you are having an early miscarriage. EIther way, the blood teest is extremely accurate.

I was very excited - called my gyno immediately and she got me in that day - she took 2 tests and they were both NEGATIVE - obviously a very emotional, very frustrating week - she ended up doing a blood test and called me yesterday to say we are having a baby! Wait another week and take another test -the hCG levels double each day - it will pick it up in the next test if you are...good luck
