I recently was very sick, flu like symptoms, for over a month. It developed into a SINUS INFECTION. So my doctor prescribed me an antibiotic. AND he gave me some samples, of a drug called Xopenex. It contains some decongestant, and hydrocodone. He knows I went to Rehab for 7mos, due to my addiction to hydrocodone. I am desperate to get better, so I didnt ask any questions, I was scared to take the drug, but he prescribed it to me. So I took it at night liek he told me to. But then today I took it during the day, It only contains 5mg. Thats nothing, I'd been taking 55-80mg a day before, and that includes nasally and orally. So 5mg?? Whats that gunna do? What do you think? I was VERY addicted tho. I lived on that stuff. It was my food, my toothepaste(in other words I didnt brush my teeth), my EVERYTHING. I can sorta feel it tho.
Any advice?

i am 100% your right my son has has asthma since he was 1, and xopenex is one of the prescriptions they would give me to put into  his nebulizer when his asthma  was acting up...and my neice also uses it in her nebulizer...i think you have the name wrong hun...i dont even think its a decongstant...its like an inhaled steroid...i THINK, not 100% sure on that part...

I would of reminded my doctor that I had a substance abuse problem with hydrocodone and would of asked him to give me something else............

I would not continue to take it... by feeding your brain hydro it will signal your pain receptors to get that same feeling.. any small amount can do this, your addiction is still there embedded in your brain chemistry... I would be very.. very leery of taking anything with any narcotic in it..

If he prescribed it to you to take at night and you are taking it during the day, you might consider flushing it. Sounds like it might be tempting you too much........
