what next?

My seven year old son sees a vision therapist (OT) to deal with accomodation insufficiency and double vision.  He has a history of sensory integrative disorder and received OT as a preschooler to address feeding and regulation issues.  We have always had a sense that he was "wired" differently.  We have recently been in contact with the company that manufactures the vision therapy computer software because he has found a way to 'cheat' by focusing on patterns in the background or by "thinking like the computer" as he describes it.  They did some testing to be sure this wasn't random.  It was not.  The vision therapist suggested some type of neurological testing.  Where or to whom do we look to find more information.  We want to be sure our son's time and our money are not put to waste.  What information should we hope to gain?  Will it help us to help him or just be a report we file under Hmmmm?
