Ultrasound?

by lilypad143, Sep 19, 2007 10:37AM
My last ultrasound was at 18 weeks and I'm 31 or 32 weeks now... do I get another one before the baby is born?

Only if the doctor finds a reason to check something like fluid levels. I didn't get an ultrasound last time after 20 weeks until they wanted to check the babies weight because I was measuring small.

You shouldn't need another unless there's a problem. But go get one of the 4-d ones for fun- the're incredible!

I am going to look into the 3-d or the 4-d ultrasound, is it expensive?

i guess its really different where you guys are from. Am from the Cayman Islands and here if you see a private doctor, u get a check up every 4 weeks until 4 weeks from your due date at which you are seen every 2 weeks. Each visit includes urine sampling, weight measuring (of you) blood pressure. Then they do and US. Am not sure at what weeks it is but they do bloods and check for abnormalties in the fetus, like spina bafia and so forth; however, if you are seen by the general hospital, you get at least 3 US. Am currently seeing a private doctor (theres lots to choose from on the Island) and i had my first US at 5 weeks, then at 6 weeks to check for heart beat, then at 10, and now am 14 weeks and i just had a US on friday! Just thought i would share!
