IN WHAT AREA OF THE NEURON DOES THE CHARGE BUILD UP BEFORE A SIGNAL IS FINALLY FIRED DOWN THE AXON?

Hi,

The neuron consists of three parts the cell body or soma, dendritic tree and axon. The soma and the dendritic tree recieve the electrical input  and transmit via the axon.
The membrane of the neuron is electrically excitable and so the electrical signal is which is known as the wave of depolarization is easily generated. Hope this answers your query!
