Am I Pregnant?

by Worriedsome, Sep 23, 2007 11:52AM
I had my last period the first week of september. I had intercourse with my fiance the week before that and the week after. For the last two weeks my breasts have been real sensitive and sore. Though it seems really odd to me that my right breast is growing much larger and feels heavy then my left. Is that a normal sign of pregnancy? Also, I have been extremely moody. I have been urinating more then usual and feeling constipated. I have been feeling sick the last two nights, only at bedtime. But don't vomit. Also, i have been breaking out with acne more. Is there a chance I am pregnant?

Hello,

You certainly have some of the common symptoms of pregnancy.  I suggest you take a home pregnancy test.  Home pregnancy tests differ in their sensitivity (i.e., the ability to detect the hormone of pregnancy when it is present).  The most sensitive of these are First Response Early Result and Clearblue Easy Earliest Results.  The earliest either of these might detect a pregnancy would be at the time of the missed menses (generally ~two weeks after conception).  If negative, repeat in one week (and/or pay a visit to your ob/gyn).

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

I'm on my second pregnancy, my babies will be 14 months apart, and you described the same symptoms I get when pregnant. I took two pregnancy tests two wks apart and they both came up negative, but 3 wks later when I went to a new doctor, to get a refill on birthcontrol, he made me take a pregnancy test 1st and I was pregnant. I was kind of in shock because I didn't think I was. I just thought I was getting ready to start. So, I would say, just from my experience, that you could most likely be pregnant. Congrats if you are. And just be as patient as possible. Good luck with everything. And let us know what you find out.

Ive always heard that you should wait 3 months to start trying after the pill, so that its completely out of your system.  There is no certain length of time it will take to get pregnant, it will just happen when it happens
