Peridex and mouth sores

by kellyyouse, Sep 23, 2007 09:06PM
I had to have crown lengthening surgery after a piece of tooth fractured during a routine filling.  The surgery involved placing cuts into my gums and then suturing them.  The periodontist prescribed Peridex to use twice a day as an anti-bacterial to keep the surgical area clean.

Within 2 days use of Peridex, I developed a large sore on the corner of my mouth, extending inside my mouth and just outside next to my lower lip.  The area surrounding the sore has been slightly swollen as well.

Could the Peridex be causing this?

I did leave a message with the Perio, but wanted to ask here in case others have had similar experiences.

It may be caused by the peridex.  Are you using it straight or mixing it with water?
