Jock itch/ Tinea cruris

by fanatic for life, Sep 23, 2007 11:45PM
I got this 2 weeks ago from delivering in the hot southern heat. There was a lot of moisure and sweatiness down there perfect to create an environment.

So i put some Lotrimin on it. It went away. Now the past couple of days its kinda been bothering me again. I wanted to know if going "commando" from time to time or maybe being a guy and possibly needing to switch out all my boxers for new ones might have anything to with creative a type of fungal environment..i.e..."A warm, damp environment allowing the fungus to cultivate greatly contributes; especially with tight, sweaty or rubbing clothing such as jockstrap or tight undershorts." - wikipedia

Fungus can be a booger to get rid of sometimes.  I'm not sure how long you were using the lotrimin but you need to continue to use it - not just use it until the rash is gone - usually for a week or two depending on how extensive the rash is.  Getting hot and sweaty makes for the perfect environment for fungus to thrive in our nether regions.
