scar in eye

by panken, Sep 24, 2007 07:25PM
My eye doctor noticed a scar I believe on the retina of my eye.  She seemed puzzled.  It is in a location that it does not cause any problems with my vision.  She seems to think I may have gotten it from a cat or bird.  I do not have either of those   animals as a pet.   Can you give me any information on this matter.

Assymptomatic scars on the retina are not uncommon. Some are caused by toxoplasmosis, toxocara canis and histoplasmosis these can come from animals or fungus in the soil. Many scars we never learn what caused them.

When I was 18 a piece of glass hit me in my right eye and left a scar across my pupil area and for years my vision has been 20/unknown and very blury is there a way to correct this and restore my vision in that eye?
