I had 2 mri's done. What does this mean?

by butterfly31201, Sep 26, 2007 08:27PM
the first one .
cervical spine. It says everything is normal . but it says the subarachnoid space is patent. What does that mean?

Then the second one is of the lumbar spine.
It says everything is normal and the conus is at L1 .
Is that where it is suppost to be?
Another question I am having is if all this says its "normal" then why to i have so much lower back and hip pains . They are so bad sometimes that they will shoot down my legs. If I walk for more then 10 mins (like in Walmart) then i am in a lot of pain afterwards. I was involved in a car accident that seemed to have made the pain much worse. So do you know hat might be causing this?

probably becasuse your hip flexors are short and tight, causing you to have a forward tilt to your pelvis. seee a recent Men's Health magazine with Matt Leinart on the cover. It has a page full of great hip flexor stretches. also get a book on posture by PAul D'Arezzo, see a website by Jolie Bookspan, and get a triggerpoint manual by clair Davies to guide you in releasing the tight muscles that hurt.
