i am 39 weeks and due wednesday by my original due date or 37 due the 17th according to my new one. the girls are probably getting close to 8 pounds a piece now. i'm gonna have arms like hulk hogan!
what a nightmare. we went through the gambit this time and yes, i am still pregnant! those big fat meanies stopped my labor so many times i lost count. i had tebutaline, magnesium sulfate and procardia. they sent me home on procardia. the magnesium really hurt my veins in the iv and i could not use my eyes right when i was on it. one always felt kinda blurry. they had to change my iv site 6 times in a week due to the mag sulfate and potassium chloride they pumped me full of. yucky.
so here was the final verdict i got. i have a dilated left kidney and gerd(gastro esophogeal reflux disease) induced by pregnancy. i was assured it would clear post partum, but i'll be followed by a nephrologist(?) ((fuzzy hospital memory)) after pregnancy and a gastro doc too. the gerd is a gift from Rayen being so big and so high. the reflux caused me to have hyperemesis which caused severe dehydration. the dehydration put me in labor. let me tell you guys, my contractions got as close as 3 minutes apart and they were no fun at all!
now i am home with a cocktail of procardia, reglan, zofran, pepcid and clear liquid diet. oh and bed rest.
i see the doctor Monday, ultrasound Tuesday for growth and then doctor Wednesday to talk about delivery. they did not do an amnio yet to check for lung maturity because i was not so stable but i sure begged them to go ahead and deliver. fat chance i guess...
watch for me, i'll make news with my 10 pound twins.
oh and heres an interesting fact. i have not had insulin in over a week and my blood sugars have still been bottoming out. i guess puking your guts up will do that.
well ladies off to bedrest for me. thanks for being concerned. i'll keep you posted.
