hearing shot...phelm is green

by tuckaboo, Sep 28, 2007 01:22PM
4 weeks ago my right ear became plugged.  Dr. said it was a "dysfunctional eustacian tube". Went on vacation (out of country) where I developed a hacking cough and continued with plugged ear and boughts of dizziness.  Arrived home to have stuffed up sinuses, (little to no mucus when blowing nose and nose is not runny in front). severe ringing in ears and can't hear out of right ear at all, hacking cough that is very persistent at night and coughing up green to brown phelm.  Is this something I need antibiotics for?  Should the loss of hearing and ringing in ear be of concern?

If you've lost the ability to hear, and it's been 4 wks since you've seen the doctor, yes, you may need antibiotics so I think you need to return, alot changes in 4 wks and your doctor may have a clearer picturer than he had before. You may try some Sudafed or Sudafed PE (I use the generic), just to see if any of the pressure is relieved, these are nasal decongestants and even though you don't have a stuffy nose they won't hurt. You should notice some change within just an hour or two so you can let your doctor know...good luck
