white bump on rim

by rogerdoger, Sep 30, 2007 10:52PM
I had sex with two ladies using a different condom with both. Afterwards, I took a shower and I noticed that I had like a white lesion on rim of penis.  We are talking about maybe 15 minutes later. During the event, there was nothing unprotected and I do not believe condom had any problems (latex-no breakage to my knowledge).  I thought maybe I just bruised and I went home.

Next day, the white lesion was a bit bigger.  It didnt have an ulcer or pus.  It was just spongy and kind of rough on the surface.  It has been a couple of days and it is still there. It doesnt hurt or anything-still no pus or ulceration.

About a couple days prior to this, I had unprotected sex with my girlfried.  We have both been tested in past for stds so I do not think I could have gotten anything there.

Is there any std that would show up this quickly.  Since it was protected, I havent went to derm or doctor yet since I just dont see how it could be std.  I have looked at warts, syphillis and herpes lesions..It definitely doesnt resemble syphils or herpes pictures.  It could be a wart but no resemblesance to caulifower.

what do you think

It doesn't sound like an STD, and it came on much too fast to be one.  I assume it had something to do with friction and trauma.  I suggest you leave it alone, and show it to a doctor if it doesn't go away in a week.

Best.

As the great Doctor Hunter Mansfield would say in the STD Forum, it is impossible for an STD to show up that quickly. :)

That is what I thought but it is still strange to get a single whitish/greyish bump on the rim of my penis.  If not std, then what else could it be.  I really do not remember seeing it before I started my activities.  It was very visible when I got in the showever and started to wash it.

One followup.  I went to the derm and he stated that based on what I told him he didnt think it was std related.  The only unprotected there has been is with girlfriend; he states that maybe a bacterial infection from her not std related (we both had syphilis test Nov 06 and hiv dna pcr Nov 06.)  There were a couple of additional encounter in Feb and Mar but both protected as well.  Doc said too long ago to be this. He did tell me that another mark I had that I thought was just a black mole was probably hpv and that he could remove it.  So, he burned it for with liquid nitrogen.

Anyway, he gave me some doxcycline antioboitc and some type of steriod cream a few days ago.  The lump seeme to be going down. It never opened or pus.  It did flake off some dry skin. It never itched or anything.

I am just a bit still concerned for a few reasons.  A few months ago I had what looked like a ulcer sore on side of my tongue.  It was just smooth surface no pain no pus no.  I thought I might have burn my tongue with a hot apple pic from McDonald so I didnt worry about it. I also noticed that I have a few little brown spots on my soles of my feet (I am black male).  I think I started getting these back at beginning of year.  Anyway, I have always practiced safe sex unless girl took std test except I did receive unprotected oral in Oct 06.

In your opinion, should I be worried.  Should I get a 2nd opinion about my penis bump.  Sorry to ramble on and on.

Sounds like you are going through what I went through a year ago.  In my case it turned out to be a sore from rough sex.  To give yourself complete peace of mind, just get tested for everything.  I know you said you have been tested in the past, but if you are this worried then that doesn't matter.  A clean slate will put an end to all of your questions.  Worked for me.

how long did it take to go away.  mine is just about gone - 8 days.  It is amazing how one little bump can throw off your pysche.  I was hoping to get a bit more from the doc for the $19 bucks.

Glad to hear it went away. If it's gone it doesn't matter what caused it since it is impossible for it to be an STD. Did this look like an actual bump?

yea, it look like a spongy bump.  it was whitish grey and slightly raiesd.  it look like a syphils bump in size and location but it never became open ulcer.  htere is still a little circle where it was and the skin is still whitish grey but it isnt raised anymore.

wow, I had the 100% exact same thing. a weird spongy looking bump on the head of my penis near the rim that was not red and when it disappeared, there was a white circle left there. My bump was about the size of a pencil eraser and the white circle left was a lot smaller, maybe about 2/3 smaller than the bump. No pain or anything with this. Along with the white circle, the skin where the bump was had a pink appearance for about a month before disappearing. Did you have some of the same appearances?

yes, sound like the same. the only difference is thta it wsant red or pink but I would assume you are white.  i am black so mine was never really red.  so did you ever find out what it was.  doc told me thta i could have got a bacteria infection not related to std from girlfriend. he said there is a lot of stuff floating around in there and if it gets under your skin can cause bump.  he siad same as everybody else that it couldnt be a a std related to my recent sexual episode prior to noticing in the shower since it would take more than an hour for std to show up and also that i wore a condom.
