explain mri scan

by sharon byrne, Oct 02, 2007 05:45AM
I had an mri scan done November 2005, my doctor will not have a new scan done keeps ging on old scan my condition is getting worse. This ia what the scan said but doctor told me everything is ok no need to worry.Normal Lumbar Lordosis although there is disc dehydration at L3/4 and L4/5 without significant loss of disc height. Small central cleft L3/4 which does not appear to compromise adjacent nerve roots or theca. Broad disc protrusion L5/S1 which impresses upon the adjacent thecal although the related S1 nerve roots bilaterally are clear. Central annular cleft L4/5. Again this does not appear to be exhibiting any significant compression upon adjacent nerve roots. Specifically no cause of peripheral left sided radicular symptoms has been seen on this study. Normal cord termination lower end T12. There is no evidence of a spondylolisthesis The neural foramina are widely patent. Normal marrow signal. There is some degeneration and mild left para-central disc bulging present T11/12. Please can you help me understand this.Do you think that this could get worse in the past 2 years.
