tomorrow is baby's birth day!

by 2ndBaby, Oct 03, 2007 09:09AM
Hi-I'm getting really nervous!  Tomorrow is the day I'm being induced.  I'm dilated to three and will receive only pitocin, no cervadil or cytotec because I am not past my due date (which is Friday).  I am so ready to have the baby, and yet I kind of feel like I've got a date with the executioner.  I do not feel comfortable with the doctor I was assigned to when I moved here 6 weeks ago.  He's got no bedside manner at all.  Yesterday he gleefully told me I had cankles.  Yeah, what every woman in her 40th week wants to hear.  And we're inducing because of baby's size vs. my pelvis size (I've been through this on here before) and he says "Wow, your first baby was only 6 lb, 12 oz?  Well this one is bigger than that!!!!"  Yes, as we have discussed, Dr. Dummy!  And way back in my first trimester screen I had an increased risk of Down's, but based upon what looked to be normal results on my level II u/s with a perinatologist, we chose not to do CVS or amnio (went through this with my DD, too) and he keeps bringing up that baby could have Down's.  I KNOW!!!!!  While I try not to dwell, I have thought about these past months, but I've tried to focus on the fact that the baby's chance for normalcy is 99.6%.  Why the gloom and doom?

Anyway, I am truly excited to see baby and find out if we have a boy or another daughter.  Either would be just terrific!  Names are John Clay, to be called "Jake" or Abby Eleanore.  We already have an Emily Mae.  I've had dreams lately that say baby is a boy-I guess we'll know soon enough :)

So I guess I'm 'signing off' for a bit.  I'm praying for an easy delivery and a healthy baby!

Enjoy seeing your little one tomorrow! I hope you have a very easy, safe and fast delivery. Let us know when you get a chance if it's a boy or girl. I'm sorry you have a bad doctor, just remember after tomorrow you can find a new one if you want. Maybe he will be busy or sick tomorrow and you will get a new doctor =)

Good luck!  I was just as nervous the second time around.  My second baby was smaller, but the first one was over 10 lbs., so we were hoping for smaller in my case. The induction went so much quicker without the Cytotec, and once they broke my water I really took off.  It was an easy delivery, the first one paved the way.  I hope you get one like that, but at least your body knows what to do this time, congrats!!!
