OSTOMY CARE

by NormaCarpenter, Oct 03, 2007 11:04PM
We have a resident where I work that has a new colostomy. She has been doing her own care;the stomahesive dried and hardened on her stoma. What can we do to soften this up,and remove it.

there are adhesive wipes you can use to remove the adhesive, or gently scratch away with fingernail being careful not to scratch too hard, trying to rub off while in shower...  many ways, ask your ostomy supply guy, they have a bunch of good ideas...
