scar revision on face

by so_over_this, Oct 05, 2007 02:55PM
Hi, it's been about a year of dealing with my nose.  It all started w/ a cyst that I got almost exactly a year ago.  Since then I've seen 3 dermatologists, and a plastic surgeon.  In August of this past summer my derm convinced me that after two cortisone shots it would not go away on its own.  So she did a shave biopsy...I think thats what it's called.  She numbed my nose and shaved it off.  It looked like it was healing nicely until about three weeks ago when the area started getting dark.  Now theres this circular dark brown spot about the size of an eraser head in the middle of my nose.  I can't deal with this on my nose any longer and I assume the only thing I can do is get scar revision.   I tried "scar zone" .  doesnt do anything.  What kind of scar revision should I get?  Whats the average cost of a procedure like that, with the really small size on my face?  Thank you and help is really really appreciated,

I doubt if any plastic surgeon would do any immediate procedure to your nose in light of the recent dermatologic treatment.  However seeing a plastic surgeon in cofnsultation now would allow that surgeon to follow your progress and decide on the best course of action.

I have the same promblem, a shaved biopsy on the bridge of my nose. Like a third eye.  It doesn't get better. I am not happy with Dr. Rosenberg's answer. I wish he would be a little more helpful.
