Yes it is.Your ideal weight should run about 107-112lbs.I'm 5'1" and weigh 102 and that is what the docs have told me.I would try protein shakes along with 3 healthy meals everyday.

I think you should see your doctor and let him/her determine your ideal weight based on age, activity level, bone structure, etc.  He/she should also rule out any medical reasons why your weight may be low and then possibly refer you to a nutritionist if it seems that lack of nutrients is behind your low body weight.  I can say that if you are working out an hour a day, you need that much MORE food to properly fuel those workouts (in the form of healthy, lean protein and whole grains, and small amounts of healthy fats like nuts, olive oil, etc).

As a recovering anorexic myself, I remember back to when people would ask me "Did you eat today?" and I could honestly say "Yes" because I had honestly had A bite of brocolli or A lettuce leaf.  The amounts of what I was was eating were barely enough to keep me awake and functioning, and yet I was managing to worout hours a day and convince myself that since I had eaten (regardless of the amount, which seemed more than reasonabe to me when I was in that anorexic mindframe).  I'm not saying you ARE restricting or that you ARE anorexic, I'm just saying that if that is part of what is behind your question and concerns, you may want to look at this more closely with  yoru doctor, who can help without making you fatter or trying to control you (which were always my fears when thinking about "recovery").  You sound very smart to be concerned at such a young age, and I applaud your courage to come here and share and ask questions!!

I agree with Sun657. I'm 5'5" and I weigh 105. I've been told too many times to count, that I needed to gain weight. When I was born, the drs thought I had cancer, then they said it was just low blood. I am a very picky eater. I try new things all the time, but for some reason, I just don't like the taste. I would never eat chicken or anything like that. It took my husband 3 yrs to get me to try chicken. I think I only eat it, bc of that's basically the only thing I can eat if we go out. I hate steak. So,, I would def. go to a dr and find out what your ideal weight should be and how to get it there and keep it maintained. If you are a picky eater, try foods that have calcium, vitamins, and proteins.
