24 weeks and gave into Tylenol

by Rachel O, Oct 06, 2007 05:06PM
Hi there.  I am just feeling a little guilty.  I am 24 weeks along and came down with a nasty cold/flu where my throat felt like I was swallowing knives and my whole body ached like crazy!  I had yet to take ANYTHING for pain, sickness, heartburn, etc. my whole pregnancy but I just had to take something to relieve the pain!  I know that they say acetaminophen is safe, but I just feel bad for giving my little one anything :(

Tylenol wont affect your baby thats why its okay, plus they make baby tylenol. Try not to feel bad!

Wow,  that is great that you made it 24 weeks!!  I am 24 weeks too, and I don't take it a lot, but I haven't been able to do the entire pregnancy without it!  It is the only thing I will take, and I only take one at a time...  it is very safe...  I took it with my first pregnancy too!

I wouldn't feel guilty, acetaminophen is completely safe.  Just don't take aspirin, and you'll be okay.  I feel the same way about taking anything, but sometimes you need to think about yourself too. Take care.

Don't feel guilty at all!  It would probably be worse to have not taken anything and felt stressed, drained and in constant pain.  Tylenol is actually pretty much the only medicine doctors say is safe to take pregnancy.  Congrats on your pregnancy and great will power to do everything to protect your little one!  Good luck!
