Muscle Cramps

by lorily, Oct 07, 2007 07:19AM
Please Help!!  My husband is 47 years old and has been suffering with severe muscle cramps, mostly from the paraspinal muscles down to his toes for the past 3 years.  He has been checked for ALS, MS, Brain and Spinal Tumors, any and all tests that many doctors can think off.  He has been diagnosed with Stiff Man Syndrome (even there is no GADS results to support this) as well as myotonia congentia.  He has taken medications ranging from baclafin to quinenine, he has had botox injections to his paraspinal muscles and has seen neurologists from Vanderbilt to Walter Reed.  He has had to go on disability and suffers from depression.  The symptoms usually start in his abdominal region (lower left side) then the back tightens up, then comes the muscle spasms.  No one seems very interested in the stomach problem ( he also has an embilical hernia which has not been repaired because of these issues).  I can't help but wonder if his abdominal problems (sharp pains in the lower left region around the pelvic area) might be more involved than suspected.  Any information you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
