Blood in stool

by proudmom2cc, Oct 07, 2007 09:27AM
I have a baby girl that is 11 mths old and this past week she had blood in her stool and I just thought that she strained really hard b/c the poop was hard.  But since then her bowls have been normal and about 3 more diapers have had a little blood in them.  it is not dried old blood just looks like normal blood.  is this something to be concerned about?
There is no fever and she acts fine, she has had a little runny bowls at times.

please help, i cannot get a hol of her doctor.

Should she be taken to the emergency room?

Thanks for any help

Take her to the hospital. E Coli can cause blood in stool and may lead to kidney failure. DOnt wait. It can be something very serious.
