Upper arm pain

by MsKelly, Oct 09, 2007 08:03PM
My boyfriend is a 31 year old male, with a job that requires heavy lifting and repetitive movements with my arms.  He has been experiencing an intense pain in my right arm, about halfway between my shoulder and my elbow, for the last  It is hard to support any weight on his arm, and raising it is very painful.  He has been taking Aleve and Ibuprofen constantly, applying heat twice a day, and rubbing it with icy-hot.  Nothing helps at this point.  Any suggestions?  His employer does not provide medical insurance, so I would prefer home remedies, if possible.

Instead of using icy hot, try using Biofreeze.  Cryotherapy is a better alternative to heat therapy, and it might last for 8 hours (it did for me, at times).  Over use of Ibuprofen can also lead to kidney stones, becareful.

I would bet anything he has a rotator cuff injury.  If it is hurting between his shoulder down the bicep and along the tricep to about the bicep.  If he is like me, trying to tuck his shirt in, especially in the back, is killer...If he did it on the job, insurance or not, that would be a workers comp claim..  Heating pad....get some of those pain patches that you can leave on for 12 hours...buy them at Walmart.

Hi,
Is he suffering only from pain or any neurological symptoms also. was there any injury to his shoulder or arm. Along with Ibuprofen orally you can also apply the voveron gel locally and continue heat therapy. he require rest for couple of days atleast, he can try for medical rembursement.
