Ear clogged after intense pain night before

by revenicus, Oct 10, 2007 11:32AM
So a couple months ago. I had an ear problem for the first time since ear infections when I was a kid. my ears, especially my right was clogged. I went to the doctor and It was just a lot of wax buildup. I got it taken care of.

Fast forward to a week ago. in the course of an hour my ear starts hurting intensely. Just like it would when I had an ear infection when I was a kid. I took some pain meds and went to sleep. and there was no more pain, just a feeling of clogged ear. So I've used debrox and tried to get anything in there out, but nothing has come out for around a week now. No pain, just clogged feeling, and I can feel some activity once in a while when I'm on the subway, or just walking around.

I read that ear infections should just take care of themselves, I'm a 26 year old healthy male, but the trick is I have no medical insurance and I don't want to spend the money unless I absolutely have to.

Any suggestions? Do you think my ear is still infected?

Your eustachian tube might be blocked, which is the inner ear not the outer ear, so no stuff will come out of your ear.
