LBBB & Mountain Trekking

by walterpcg, Oct 11, 2007 12:02AM
Dear Doctors,

I was diagnosed with LBBB 2 years ago but did not experience any symptoms except for mild hypertension and mild tachycardia and mildly elevated cholesterol. I was put on Cozaar 50 mg, Tenormin 25mg and Zocor 20mg along with aspirin 100mg. All my risk factors mentioned above are under control.

I feel fine and do regular exercise which includes step climbing for 40 mins daily with a 8 1/2 kg backpack, and I plan to increase to 60mins in preparation for Mountain Trekking to an altitude of about 5000 meters.

My cardiologist says my fitness has improved over the last year but does not want to comment on my Mountain Trekking plans. Please advise and any precautions over and above the normal I should take.

Thanks in advance

Walter
