To: Country.
Yes, low back pain is normal and for me it has gotten much worse in the second trimester.  This is my first and I started to show around 14 weeks. I felt first faint mvmts at about 18 weeks and am now currently 19 weeks and have yet to feel any kicks.

oh man! I had major back pain in the lower region around that time, i cried at times it was hurting so bad.  I'm now 11 wks 5days, and it has gotten alot better for me.

In my first pregnancy i didn't show until i was 5 1/2 months pregnant, maybe 6months. And felt movement around 20 wks to 25 wks i believe.

I'm 6w 2d with my 2nd and I too have been having some lower back pain.  As long as the pain is not debilitating and it's not accompanied by any bleeding, then it's normal.

With my first I did not feel movement until 22 weeks.  It's common with your first to feel movement around 20-22 weeks, and then you feel each baby after that a little earlier...mainly because you know what you're looking for.

Hope this helps!

Yes! Lower back pain is normal as long as there is no bleeding. I think the pain is associated with increased blood flow to the uterus (thus it feeling a bit like period pain) and also the muscles and other organs that are stretching and moving aside to allow room for the ever-growing uterus! How exciting...things are working for you as they should!!! This is my fifth pregnancy and my fourth baby as I m/c my very first and I can tell you I didn't have any symptoms at all with my first one and subsuqently lost it at about 8 weeks. BUT with my first, second, third and now fourth babies (i'm only about 5 weeks right now) I know that anything can be normal as long as it isn't accompanied with blood! Having said that I had a really big bleed with my second baby at 11 weeks and thought for sure that I'd lost the baby. The u/s showed a lovely heart beating and all was well...I think I had some blood clots come away the dr said...so you never know even with bleeding what's really going to happen!

With regards to movment - With my first, I felt her 'kick' (totally missed any other 'butterfly' movement - didn't know what to look out for) at 17 weeks. With my second, felt the 'butterfly' movements at about 14 weeks and kicking at 15 weeks. With my third, felt 'butterfly' movements at 11 weeks and kicking at 14 weeks. I am quite slim though and don't have a lot of 'padding' normally so perhaps this helped me to feel the kicks sooner than others. But they do say that it's not uncommon to not feel movement until 22 weeks. But I think if you are not feeling anything by 25 weeks I'd get an ultrasound! You'll be right though...there's no mistaking that first kick let me assure you!!!

What did you ladies do for your back pain? I've tried pillows between my knees and still can't find a comfortable position. i am 14 weeks and this back pain has worsened since the 7th week.
