Eye Pain

by edelisle, Oct 14, 2007 09:58AM
My husband's left eye started hurting 2 days ago and was slightly swollen around the ocular cavity.  The swelling went down but the pain has persisted and increased in aggravation.  He describes the pain as though something was trying to come through or  come out from behind his eye.  He said that he experiences the feeling of being so tired you can't keep your eyes open; that he has to consciously think about keeping his left eye all the way open.  It does not look swollen or red really.  He has been under a lot of stress for an extended amount of time and has not been getting a full night's rest for over a week.  I am very concerned and need medical advise on the matter.  Unfortunately we are not in the position to go to a doctor unless it is imperative that we go.  Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately I am not in a position to make a diagnosis on his problem nor does this group of symptoms suggest a particuliar cause. If it continues to get worse you would be well advised to see an Eye MD physician ophthalmologist for an examination and proper diagnosis and treatment.

Let me also say that he is in his early 20's, is fit, has no previous eye problems or any serious health issues.  Thank you.
