3 yr old with leg and arm pains

by Hazel30, Oct 14, 2007 10:06PM
Hi I have an almost 3 yr old boy.  Very active doesnt realy cry about his boo boos that he gets every day but recently Ive noticed him complaining about his hands hurt and tonight he began with his knees hurting, even woke up an hour into his sleep crying about his knee hurting.   A few days ago I thought maybe its for attention but know Im starting to feel a little worried since he is being woken up in his sleep from knee pain.  He never cries about little falls and scrapes but with these pains he actualy cries and Im begining to feel worried.  Could this be growing pains?

I have 3 children, my oldest is now 13, my middle is 7 and my youngest is 2 1/2.  The 2 older had "growing pains" pretty severely.  I had them too as a child - I remember them well.  We call them aches, but they started very similarly to what you are describing.  I found a homoepathic medicine that is EXTREMELY effective - it's called Calcarea Phosphorica.  The company Bioron makes it and I've always used the 30c dosage.  It's easy to find at a good health food store and even online.  What I love about homeopathics is they are safe for anyone - diabetic, children, pregnant women, nursing moms, etc.  I give my kids 3-5 pellets under their tongue and let them dissolve.  When they were little and didn't understand that concept, I woud give them the 5 pellets and just let them chew them up.  The medicine usually took effect within 15 minutes or so.  They are extremely small pellets and it's critical you do not touch them with your skin.  The bottle is built so you twist the bottle upside down and the pellets fall into the lid; you then remove the lid and simply dump the pellets into the child's mouth.  What I've understood about homeopathy is the oils in your skins break down the medicine and render it in or less effective.  I hope this helps.  I haven't found anything it's equal and I know how painful growing pains can be.  Before I found this, my daughter would cry for hours because of the pain.  I would even give her children's Advil/Motrin/ibuprophen or children's Tylenol/acetimeniphen - those just didn't work.
