Pregnancy-like symp

by Over30, Oct 15, 2007 08:38PM
I am 36 yr old.  After I had my third child, 2 years ago next week, I had an IUD inserted (Mirena).  I got my menstrual period back not long after, but then after a couple of months it ceased;I haven't gotten a period since.  I often get pregnancy-lik symptoms, such as migraines, sleepiness, cramps, even the back pain that I only got during pregancy; I am not preganant, haven't been since the insertion (actually have done a few home preg test).  My OB nurse says there are no side effects to Mirena, and that periods do get "lighter" and shorter with it, but no where have I seen or gotten any confirmation that they should altogether dissappear.  Is there a reasonable explanation to why my menstrual periods are gone?  Cold i be in early menopause at this age?  This wouldn't be an issue if I weren't so "moody" and feeling "beaten up" so often...  I doubt this is relevant, but out of nowhere I also went up two pant sizes, for no apparent reason in the last 5 months (from a "0" to a "4").
