Dark blood

by beccajune, Oct 16, 2007 10:34AM
I'm a 28 year old mother. My son is 13 months. I am extremely underweight...I wieght just 94 lbs and I'm 5'6. But my question is I had my period 8 days ago and now there's brown blood coming from my vagina. I have a slight cramp now and again. This has never happened to me before. Is this normal?

This is a medical question and should be put on a different forum with a gynecological expert. I also believe whenever there is unusual spotting , you should go see a doctor in person and find out what it is.  You can't get all the information you need from these forums so please go get an examination.

Sounds like a miscarriage. I had almost the same experience back in Febuary. I had my period and less than a week and a half later there was dark spotting that led to heavy even darker bleeding which lasted about 2 and a half weeks. I had slight cramps and very dark blood which came out very clumpy. You should go to your GYN as soon as possible. It may have to do with your weight or may not. It may be a combination of your weight and the fact you recently had a child. Either way, you need to see your doctor.
