PCOS?

by ale2121, Oct 17, 2007 12:23PM
HI,
Thanks in advance for your time.  I'm a 29 year old female. For the past few months, I have been having some rather severe bouts of dizziness, at least once everyday.  They seem to come on almost immediately after eating, and cause some pretty bad mood swings.  Some of my other symptoms include high blood pressure (has almost doubled in two years despite weight loss and proper nutrition), sometimes rather severe muscle/ joint pain (dr suggested fibromyalgia), nerve damage in left arm, headaches etc.  My dr has done a lot of testing. The only thing that has come up so far is that I have elevated DHEA levels in a saliva/ urine test, and low serotonin. My blood sugar levels were fine ( something like fasting 80, 76,59,69 during a 3hr glucose tolerance test)  My dr has suggested PCOS because of the DHEA levels, but my period is usually like clock work. Although this past month it only lasted for about a day and a half.  I'm wondering if all these symptoms can be attributed to PCOS, or if maybe there might be some anxiety at play here (maybe causing the muscle pain and stiffness, causing nerve problems, and maybe blood pressure problems too).  I've also been under a lot of stress this past year (i have a sick parent) which is why I'm considering anxiety.  Any thoughts so that I might suggest things to my already diligent dr would be very helpful.
