BIRAD discrepancy

I've had several mammo's in the past year due to microcalcifications ranging from BiRad3 to 4b. I had a stereotactic biopsy on left breast in Jan w/benigh results:). However, I am still having breast pain, esp. prior to my period. Since my July mammo came back as BIRAD 4B, the report went to my breast specialist and recommended biopsy in the same area of previous biopsy and a biopsy of the right breat for a suspicious cluster. My dr. and I agreed to a film consult from another radiologist because of the benign results from the same area in question. The second radiologist reports my calcifications as BIRAD 2!?? How does that happen - go from a 4b to a 2 and didn't classify right breast at all!. Also, this radiologist recommends a 1 year screening mammo rather than 6 month check? Who should I trust and what are the guidelines for making significant changes to a BIRAD classification? And, what's the time frame to look for in microcalcification stability?

Different people see things differently .... In the event that a second opinion does not agree with the first then a third isn't out of the question. With a BIRAD 4 I would never ignore the recommendation for a biopsy though.

I am in constant pain due to the many biopsies I have had on the left breast. They are now biopsing my biopsies! I hope all is well with you and that you are just doing your yearly screenings.
