Scrotum Pain

Hi,
I have a swollen area on the bottom and right side of my scrotum, this just appeared out of no where and is extremely painful to walk, sit, lay down. It feels like a hard rubbery type surface, but there are now 2 marks on the side which look like blood (similar to a boil/pimple). Could you please advise what i may have and what i can do for relief?

my 3 year old sons scrotums jsut swelled up last week and was VERY black and blue/ purple for no known reason.
we went to the ER and they did an ultrasound.
any adivce?
