Red rings..not ring worm!?

by ambrat77, Oct 18, 2007 06:02PM
I get these red rings on my skin that look like ringworm...but they go away and sometimes don't come back for months. I have been checked for ringworm and it has come back negative every time. My dad has the same thing happen with his skin, he says it is a rare skin disorder that he passed on to me but doesn't know what it is called. When the ring fades away....it takes any skin pimentation or tan that was there before with it. Do you know what this could possibly be so I can suggest it to the dermatologist...they don't seem to have any idea as to what it could be.

Thanks so much,
Amber

I just posted a question which has similarities to what u have but not sure if the same. Was diagnosed with Erythema Annulare Centrifugum EAC. No known cure though so am desperate to hear what others do to get rid of it or what the causes were. Not much research on it. My Dad was in Vietnam war before I was born and has horrible skin problems as a result of malaria tablets over prolonged time (and agent orange which no-one admits was used of course) so I wonder if it is genetic from what you say.
