symptoms, no answers

I have been having symptoms for months. Bloating, left abdominal pain ,left lower back pain, frequent urinating, diarreah, extreme fatigue. I have been to the er twice in 3 months both times they took cat scans and they were CRYSTAL CLEAN. I have an appointment with the gastronologist on tuesday. can I insist on lapriscopic screening? I am going completely crazy. I have been tested for everything under the sun including lupis celiac lyme etc.... but not ovarian cancer. I was adopted and have no hystery. We have always been tought to trust and respect our doctors, but I really feel I am not being listened to and it is very frustrating. Any advice would be great. Thanks to all, I just joined this site and it is wonderful for support.

Hi There,
if your symptoms do not improve and all your other tests are normal, a laparoscopy may be helpful to understand your discomfort
best wishes

Hi lindalee, my mother initially found out she had ovarian cancer when her red blood cell count was very low,  which meant she was anaemic. Ask your doctor to do a blood cell count. She never talked about having diarreah or frequent urinating, only fatigue and bloating in the stomach. Good luck and I hope it's good news for you :)

I have been having the same symptoms for 2-3 weeks. Have you had any weight loss? I had my urine checked and I was told I had a urinary tract infection.  I was placed on antibiotics this morning.  I hope this helps.

Hi, i have just joined this site and saw your query and was drawn to it. Your symptoms do sound alot like what i have been going through from what i have read. Are they your only symptoms?? I have had serve abdominal pain, loss of appetite- without losing any weight, exhaustion, lower back pain, mood swings, depression, heart pulpitations or irregular heartbeat, muscle weakness, insomnia, irregular bleeding and wake up at night with pain needing to go to the toilet. I have always been quite healthy and very rarely get sick and have never had an irregular bleeding before. I went to a doctor and he thought my THYROID gland was enlarged and the thyroid gland can have an adverse effect on your body. I did find out today i have 6 nodules within the thyroid gland. If you have not already found a cause for your symptoms maybe having your thyroid checked would be helpful, to see if you have an overactive or underactive thyroid gland. I also had a full pelvic scan and found i have a complex cyst in my ovary. So that could be another option to explore. I hope some of this helps and you find your answers. good luck :)

Hi, I, too, have many of the symptoms you have plus feeling full after eating only a very small amount (since the end of July), bloated, high hip pain on the left 24/7, some discomfort of my abdomen on the left, a watery discharge and low appetite.  What took me to the doctor was that since May I'd noticed a 10 lb weight gain.  (When I really started paying attention to my food issue I noticed that I'd not been eating very much.  Recently, though, I've dropped 8 lbs in 2 weeks and that is not like me.  It took me nearly 2 years to lose 40 lbs. with WW)  My GYN ordered a thyroid, CA125 and had me come in for a vaginal ultra sound.  All negative.  He referred me to a GI Dr.  Had an endoscopy, CT and will have a stomach emptying scan tomorrow.  CT and endoscopy were normal other than a small hiatal hernia and mild diverticulosis. I'll also get a full blood work up before my scan tomorrow.

My gut tells me it's not stomach related but I'm going through the tests to prove it or not.  I'll see my family Dr on Thursday.  I had an ovarian cyst and my ovary removed (right side) last Nov.  I have endometriosis.

If noting comes from the stomach emptying scan I will head back to my GYN.  Like Dr. Goodman said, I'll ask for another vaginal ultrasound and possibly a laparoscopy to look around.  The women on the OC forum say to keep on it and make the Drs prove it isn't anything.

Good luck to you.  Keep on searching.  I know that I waver back and forth between just believing the tests or knowing that these symptoms aren't normal and to keep searching, as well.

Hi Lindalee - I have celiac disease and the blood panel was negative 2x!  They found it on two consecutive small bowel biopsies.  I also had all the same symptoms you do; incidentally, also adopted.
